Construction Inspector - Water

MWH Constructors' Construction Management Services (CMS) group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Construction Inspector to conduct and document inspections related to the construction of water/wastewater-related infrastructure projects in the Corona, CA area.

Essential Functions

  • Represent the project owner in the field, provide single-point field inspection of the Contractor’s work.
  • Daily, monitor and record contractors' methods, procedures, and processes for compliance with the contract and prepare a comprehensive Daily Inspection Report with measurement of daily installed quantities and resources utilized.
  • Inspect the work for completeness and conformance with the plans, specifications, and applicable regulations and ordinances.
  • Assist the construction manager in developing as-built drawings.
  • Document compliance and non-compliance of completed work with established quality control and quality assurance processes and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of inspection experience in the construction of water infrastructure projects.
  • ACIA/CPII Certifications.
  • A thorough understanding of construction safety, quality control, and general contract management requirements is necessary.
  • Confined Space Certification
  • An equivalent combination of related experience and technical training may be substituted.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
